More internationalisation at adesso: adesso opens new subsidiary in Spain

adesso AG has founded a new subsidiary in Spain. With its Barcelona branch, adesso is continuing to drive the internationalisation of its service business. The company already owns subsidiaries in Austria, Switzerland and Turkey. Other foreign subsidiaries are in the pipeline.

The founding of adesso Spain – consultoría y soluciones tecnológicas, S.L. marks another milestone in the company’s internationalisation. adesso is pursuing the goal of continuing its trajectory of growth in the long term to become a leading information technology consulting group throughout Europe.

Spain was a targeted location choice as, according to IWF information, Spain was the fourteenth largest economy worldwide in 2016 with high demand for services in the fields of communications and information technology. Spain’s gross national product recorded growth of 3.1 % last year, meaning that it ranks fifth amongst the 28 EU member states.

Dr Rüdiger Striemer is in charge of adesso’s international subsidiary business. He explains the decision to expand to this location: “With adesso Spain, we immediately gain an important mainstay in south-western Europe, where we will have the opportunity to tap new markets in the Mediterranean and in South America in the medium term.”

adesso will be offering business and public administrations in Spain the IT group’s entire consulting and software development portfolio. “In Spain, there is room for improvement in the field of digitalisation. We see excellent opportunities here for our IT consulting business – throughout all sectors,” the new Managing Director of adesso Spain, Miriam Lindhorst, explains. The experienced IT manager form North Rhine-Westphalia has already been living in Spain for over ten years. Until recently, she was the CEO of business operations for the Spanish subsidiary of the Novomatic Lottery Solutions (NLS) technology group, where she successfully managed the development and operations of the Catalonian state lottery. She is bringing her regional knowledge, her international expertise and her network to her new role at adesso.

With 14 offices in Germany and independent foreign subsidiaries in Austria and Switzerland, adesso has good coverage in its core area of Central Europe. In addition, its location in Istanbul and its new base in Barcelona are important sales positions in the east and west of southern Europe.

adesso will be launching another subsidiary in an eastern European EU country in the near future.
